Ambassador Dr Osita Offor, “De Ultimate Commander” and Ikanga Gburugburu 1st of Ohafia Ancient Kingdom, has described Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu’s 2027 governorship bid is, in his words, “laughable.” Amb. Offor likened it to a self-inflicted delusion fueled by over-praise from sycophants who may not speak the truth, but cheer him on to release the significant resources entrusted to him from the centre—a reality Offor notes is normal, as wealth is meant to be enjoyed, not buried for nothing when people can chop.
Amb. Offor, the undefeated and undisputed wrestling champion, reminded Rt. Hon Ben Kalu that Abia State has evolved politically. Citizens no longer respond to propaganda or empty rhetoric—they support results, not clout chasing. He challenged Rt. Hon Kalu to account for his eight-year tenure representing Bende Federal Constituency, arguing that past performance is the only reliable yardstick to forecast what he can deliver for the entire state.
“The truth is,” Amb. Offor said, “A national leader who cannot restore power to his village, repair the road to his house, or deliver basic needs in eight years cannot suddenly rescue Abia State without first seeking spiritual help or strategic counsel to enable him to see realities on the ground more clearly.”
He further questioned Rt. Hon. Ben Kalu’s promise to “rescue” Abia State (from what exactly?), noting that after 24 years of stagnation, the state has begun to see light within three years of Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s administration. Amb. Offor warned that any attempt to reverse these gains would risk returning the state to the darkness of the past, where opportunists once thrived. He counsels Rt. Hon. Kalu should stop listening to praise-singers cheering him on because it is not borne of love, but of desire to see what they can get out of him from the national cake he is enjoying, he should sack all of them when he still has time.
Ambassador Dr Offor advised Rt. Hon Kalu to save his energy and focus on achievable projects during the remainder of his time in the House of Representatives—even small wins, like restoring electricity for his constituents, would be meaningful and appreciated by the people who already gave him their trust.
Ambassador Offor reassured the Bende people that Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, remains committed to restoring hope and advancing development across Abia State, assuring them that Bende will not be left out “What you need is a leader that understands, listens and delivers; not a brother that brags, dreams, boasts, but offers nothing. That leader is Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
