8,600 beer bottles that were loaded onto a van and transported from Kaduna to Kano State were seized by the Kano State Hisbah Board. Idris Ibrahim, the board's officer in charge of intoxicants, told reporters over the weekend that the alcoholic beverages were taken last Thursday at Kwanar Dangora village, which is located near the Kano-Kaduna road. With the help of the Nigerian Navy, the motor fishing vessel AFKI, flying the flag of Cameroon, which had been abandoned at sea for almost a month, was saved.
