The Lagos State Police Command has intercepted 47 sacks containing military camouflage uniforms and 80 cartons of suspected illicit substances during an intelligence-led operation in the Surulere area of the state.
The breakthrough was disclosed on Tuesday by the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, who was represented by senior officers of the command while briefing journalists at the command headquarters in Ikeja.
According to the police, the operation was carried out based on credible intelligence, leading to the recovery of the military uniforms and the large consignment of suspected illicit drugs. Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the source, ownership, and intended destination of the seized items.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to combating criminal activities across the state and urged residents to continue providing useful information that could assist security agencies in maintaining law and order.
